University of New Mexico, Office of Support for Effective Teaching (OSET)
OSET, the Office of Support for Effective Teaching, is the University of New Mexico's faculty development program. OSET is a result of the reorganization efforts of the Provost's office from the program previously known as CASTL in September 2006. This office serves as a general resource center for all UNM instructors including tenured and tenure-track faculty, lecturers, adjunct faculty, faculty on Branch campuses, teaching assistants, clinician educators and all others who have an instructional role in the classroom. The primary programs currently sponsored by OSET are New Faculty Orientation, Success in the Classroom conference, workshop and brown-bag series on topics of interest to faculty, longer institutes on course design, and the coordination with the Faculty Senate Teaching Enhancement Committee of the University teaching awards .
